How renting with Faso Cars works
Verification happens once. After that, booking again takes just a couple of minutes.
1. Choose your dates
Pick your pickup and return date and time (pickups run 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM). The full price — rate, taxes, refundable deposit, and included mileage — is shown before you continue.
2. Create your account
Add your name, phone, and address. This is used for identity verification and your rental agreement.
3. Verify your identity once
Verification runs through Stripe Identity: scan your driver's license and take a selfie. We confirm age (21–70), license validity, expiration, and identity match. Pass all checks and you're eligible immediately — no waiting on a manual review.
4. Add your insurance
Your own policy with physical damage (collision/comprehensive) coverage is mandatory. Upload your declarations page and we read the coverage limits automatically. Liability-only policies are not accepted — without the required coverage you'd be fully responsible for any damage to the vehicle.
5. Review fees and sign the agreement
See every possible charge in writing — deposit, mileage, late return, $50 fuel service fee, $50 pet fee, smoking, cleaning, and the $5/day NJ Domestic Security Fee — then type your legal name to sign. Those exact amounts are locked to your booking.
6. Pay securely
Pay with a card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link. Your rental total is authorized and a refundable security deposit hold is placed — $200 for renters aged 25–70, $400 for renters aged 21–24.
7. Admin review and release
Our team completes a release checklist (verification, license, selfie, insurance, deposit, final approval), usually within 24 hours. Once payment is confirmed, your booking gets its FC reference number.
8. Pickup
After approval and release, the pickup address and arrival instructions unlock in your dashboard, and reminder emails go out 24 hours and 2 hours before pickup. We document vehicle condition with photos at handoff.
9. Return and deposit release
Return at the agreed time with the same fuel level, and submit a photo showing the odometer and fuel gauge. Once the return inspection is approved, your deposit hold is released — typically within 5 business days.
